    According to Dr Hans Penth of Chiang Mai University, who has translated these inscriptions, the writing is 'fak kham' script.
    Not read.
    It is of great significance that all the inscriptions and potters'marks found on Kalong wares, and, indeed, on other northern and also on Sukothai/ Sisachanalai wares, are in Thai script. This virtually rules out the theory that the potters were Chinese.
